How We Shipped an Antique Air Compressor
Heirloom Rejoins Family
Made by F.W. Spacke Machine in 1907, I am an antique compressor. My founder, Fred Spacke was born in 1872, according to his obituary, “having a natural mechanical talent, perfected mechanical contrivances in the power line, inventing things like steam engine governors and speed pulleys”. I was part of a large operation that produced all kinds of equipment in the early 1900’s. My history can be found on line at http://spacke.com/
I don’t remember how I ended up in Jackson MI, it’s all a blur now, but I was discovered by heir Tim Spacke on E-bay – reminiscent to Kunte Kinte of Roots! He wanted me back in the family in California so he searched and found me. My previous owner took to me to Jackson Pack N Ship for the trip. There the very nice ladies strapped me down to a pallet and I was loaded onto a freight truck heading down the highway, looking for adventure.
I can’t wait to for my family see me again!
